Number One Reason to Watch Sons of Anarchy - Charlie Hunnam
The 31 year-old English actor will be starring in Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming futuristic movie, Pacific Rim. Will this be the movie that pushes Charlie Hunnam into bigger and better things? He has the looks and talent to warrant it.
In an interview with Stumped Magazine, he compared acting to being a prize fighter.
“I always liked the analogy of being an actor is sort of like being a prize fighter, you can live your life the way you want to, but once you know you have a fight coming up, your focus becomes absolutely singular, and you’re on task, and you learn as much as you can about your opponent, and you prepare yourself as thoroughly as possible, so that when you step into the ring you have all the tools at your disposal to get the job done.”
What we’ve seen Charlie Hunnam in -
Nathan Maloney in the British Queer as Folk, title role in the 2002 adaption of Nicholas Nickleby, Bosie in 2003 Cold Mountain (he was menacing and so blond he almost looked albino), Gavin Nichols in 2011 The Ledge, Jax in FX’s Sons of Anarchy .
If you have the chance, check out Charlie Hunnam in The Ledge. He was smoldering as Gavin who falls in love with his new neighbor’s wife, Shana (lucky Liv Tyler). The husband, Joe (Patrick Wilson) who is a Christian fundamentalist finds out about the affair. He tells Gavin he must climb up to a ledge of a building and wait until a designated time to jump or Joe will kill Shana.
Images released for Guillermo Del Toro’s (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) Pacific Rim, which will be in theatres July 2013. Pacific Rim poster for Comic-Con was just released. Cast includes Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Rinko Kikuchi and Idris Elba (Prometheus).
Synopsis from Collider.Com:
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
