Canadian Import: Landon Liboiron
The 21-year-old actor hails from Alberta, Canada and started his acting career on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. The popular series seems to be the jumping point for many Canadian teen actors and post alumnus such as Drake, Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries) and Shenae Grimes (90210).
Liboiron also appeared on the short-lived 2011 Fox sci-fi drama, Terra Nova. The series was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and was based on an idea by British writer Kelly Marcel. Terra Nova was set in a future where humanity is on the brink of extinction because of overpopulation and poor air quality. Scientist discover a rift in time and create a portal in which they can send a select few back in time to the Cretaceous period. Liboiron played Josh Shannon, the rebellious teenage son of James Shannon played by Jason O’Mara.
Liboiron can now be seen in the Netflix American horror thriller Hemlock Grove that is executive produced by Eli Roth of Hostel fame. Landon Liborion plays Peter Rumancek who just moved into the fictional town of Hemlock Grove with his mother Lynda (Lili Taylor). Peter hails from a line of gypsy werewolves. Just as Peter and his mother arrive in town, several teenage girls are brutally killed by what looks like an animal attack. Peter joins forces with the spooky Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgard) to find out who is responsible. Roman comes from an influential family that owns a bio-tech company. He has a seven feet tall sister name Shelly (Nicole Boivin) that glows. His demonic mother, Olivia Godfrey (Famke Janssen) is sleeping with his uncle Norman Godfrey (Dougray Scott). His cousin, Letha Godfrey (Penelope Mitchell) believes she was impregnated by an angel. On top of that, Roman is also a Upyr (vampire).
