The Game of Thrones Men: Kit Harrington
The HBO adaption of George R.R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, Game of Thrones is based mainly on Martin’s first book in the series, the best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire. The show follows the struggles between the noble houses of Westeros for the Iron Throne and supremacy over the kingdom. Summers span decades and winters can last even longer in Westeros. A wall to the North is the only thing protecting the kingdom from the unknown dark forces that lie beyond.
Jon Snow is the bastard son of the late Ned Stark (Sean Bean), Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North. Jon joined the Night’s Watch, the keepers of the wall and served as steward to Lord Commander Mormont. He has two sisters, Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams) and three brothers, Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), Tommen (Callum Wharry) and Robb (Richard Madden).
The 26-year-old British actor, Kit Harrington was deemed by The Hollywood Reporter as one of twelve Brits invading the Hollywood “it list.” He got his start appearing in many London theatrical productions before landing the role of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. He will appear in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D and wrapped filming of The Seventh Son in Vancouver alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore.
In a March interview with Vulture.Com , he talked about people’s reaction in public to his character, Jon Snow being a bastard.
"They do say it with affection, but yeah, people come up and go, ‘You bastard!’ It’s always interesting when one person does that, and the other person who might be there doesn’t know why. It’s really a weird thing."
